Upgrading and merging
Forge actions are on the Cards page. Feed essence or a spare card to an Epic, Legendary or Mythic to gain XP. Or combine three cards of the same rarity into one universal card. Feeding and combining permanently use up the materials.
Choose what you want to do
| Action | What you keep | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Feed | The target card, with more XP | Uses a spare card or essence to raise an Epic, Legendary or Mythic's level. |
| Combine | One new universal card | Uses three cards of the same rarity to make a wildcard of that rarity. |
| Save a mining team | All four cards | Groups cards on Teams for a +50 HP bonus. No cards are burned. |
Levelling keeps the card's rarity. Combining also keeps the rarity: three Rare cards make a universal Rare. To put four cards into a team, use Teams; see the team examples before using a needed card as material.
Upgrade a card
- Open Cards and select an unlisted Epic, Legendary or Mythic below level 30.
- Under Feeding, choose a spare card to burn, or one unit of essence from your wallet. A food card must be different from the target, unlisted, outside a saved team and non-Mythic.
- For a spare card, press Review feeding and fee. Selecting an essence opens its preview. Check the XP, resulting level, material being burned and fee for every level gained. Choose ZOO or USDC when a level fee applies.
- Press Burn card and feed or Burn essence and feed, then approve the wallet requests. After confirmation, allow time for the collection to update.
Won essence must be claimed into your wallet from Battle before the Forge can use it. You can also buy essence in the Shop.
If the fee or card progress changes while you are reviewing, press Cancel, select the material again and review a fresh preview. The app checks for changes before sending the feeding transaction.
Feeding: XP and levels
- 1Pick a targetan Epic, Legendary or Mythic you own
- 2Feed itan essence or a spare card (the card is burned)
- 3Gain XPlevels follow from total XP
- 4Pay the level feeonly for levels actually gained
Food XP uses the spare card's base HP and level. Shiny, season, team and account bonuses add no food XP. Any saved XP between that card's levels is not added separately. The live calculation rounds down to tenths, so use the XP shown in the fee preview.
| Essence | XP | Shop price |
|---|---|---|
| Junk | 1.2 | 1 USDC |
| Normal | 2.4 | 3 USDC |
| Rare | 4.8 | 10 USDC |
| Epic | 24.0 | 40 USDC |
Example: an Epic with base mining HP 20 needs 20 XP per level, or 600 total XP for level 30. At that level its card hash power is 110 instead of 20, before other mining bonuses. Saved XP carries forward between feeds. Any XP beyond the maximum level is lost. Mythics can be upgraded but never used as food.
One essence, three different results
One Epic essence gives 24 XP. Start each example with a level-0 Epic and no saved XP:
| Target base HP | Level after feeding | Progress towards next level | Level fee in USDC | Card HP after feeding |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 10 | 2 | 4 of 10 XP | 10.60 | 13 |
| 20 | 1 | 4 of 20 XP | 5.00 | 23 |
| 30 | 0 | 24 of 30 XP | 0.00 | 30 |
These fees cover levels only; buying essence and paying network fees are separate. A higher base HP needs more XP per level and gains more mining HP from each level. A single feed can cross several levels, and you pay for each one.
For the base-20 card, a second Epic essence brings total XP to 48: level 2, with 8 XP towards level 3. That second feed costs 5.60 USDC in level fees. Its level-2 card HP is 26, before shiny, season and account bonuses.

- Pay the fee in ZOO (45% burned, 40% to the mining pool, 15% treasury) or in USDC (50% treasury, 50% ZOO buyback).
- A feed that does not finish a level has no level fee, but still burns the food or essence and uses transaction gas. Each level fee is rounded to cents before multiple level fees are added.
- Every 10 levels on an Epic+ card earns a star: +2% account hash power, up to 3 stars per card and 6 counted per account. Only cards that are mining contribute stars (stars and account bonuses).
What an upgrade changes
- Each level adds 15% of the card's base mining HP. The increase uses the original base, so level 10 has 2.5× the base HP.
- Battle stats grow by 3% of their base per level. At level 10 they are 30% above level 0; mining HP and battle health are separate values.
- The target keeps its base HP, rarity and shiny status. An Epic stays Epic at level 30. Universal Epic and Legendary cards can also level up.
- A target may stay in its saved team while you upgrade it. A card used as food must be outside a team: disband that team first if you choose to burn it.
- Check the XP needed near level 30. Food or essence is used in full even when part of its XP exceeds the limit.
Merging: 3 → 1 universal
- 13 cardssame rarity, any animals
- 2Mergethe three are burned, no fee
- 31 universal cardsame rarity, best basic hash power of the three
- In Cards, select a card and choose Combine. Select two more of the same rarity. All three must be yours, unlisted and outside saved teams. Review the three cards and resulting base HP, then press Burn 3 cards and combine.
- The result is a new card at level 0 with no XP. It keeps only the highest base mining HP of the three; levels and shiny status do not carry over. The originals are permanently burned.
- Universal Junk, Normal, Rare and Epic cards can fill their matching slot in a mining team of another animal. A universal Legendary currently cannot fill a team's top slot. Universal cards do not receive the season-animal mining bonus.
- Mythics and universal cards cannot be merged.
For example, three Epic cards with base HP 10, 20 and 30 make one universal Epic with base HP 30. It starts at level 0 even if an original was level 30. The result can be upgraded later, but cannot be combined again. Its new mint can mine straight away.
Combining three cards without completing a team reduces their combined card HP. Check your missing slots first, especially before combining upgraded or shiny cards. You can use a universal as food later, but it is still permanently burned.
This guide describes the current code and its defaults. Some app previews also use defaults; deployed settings can differ. Review the network, amount and action before confirming.
