Boxes and reveals
Buy a box on Boxes, confirm it in your wallet, then wait for the draw. Closing the animation does not cancel a confirmed order.
Choose a box
| Box | USDC | USD value paid in ZOO | What you get |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pocket box | 3 | 2.70 | 1 card: Junk 85%, Normal 15% |
| Zoo box | 10 | 9.00 | 1 card; the full rarity table below |
| Keeper's Crate | 45 | 40.50 | 3 cards; the first card in each crate is Rare or better |
These are the current code defaults. ZOO payments are priced in ZOO using the game's average token price; the wallet shows the actual token amount. They need a working price quote and enough ZOO in your wallet.
The page offers ×1, ×3 and ×5 boxes per purchase. The contract accepts up to 5 boxes per order, so ×5 Keeper's Crates contain 15 cards. Zoo and Crate cards share a seasonal limit of 20,000 cards. Pocket cards are outside that limit.
How the draw works
- 1Confirm paymentThe box contract holds your USDC or ZOO
- 2Wait for randomnessOne random number is requested per card
- 3The result is fixedThe contract applies the rarity rules
- 4RevealCards go to your wallet and payment is settled
The Boxes page labels the randomness provider. Chainlink VRF means the contract requests verifiable randomness from Chainlink. Test randomness means the test server supplies it; that draw does not have Chainlink's fairness guarantee. An unverified provider means the app could not confirm which provider is in use.
There is no guaranteed reveal time. The server normally reveals automatically after the random result arrives. If the cards are already on-chain but missing from Cards, let the game sync and refresh; buying again creates another paid order.
Zoo odds and guarantees
| Rarity | Normal Zoo draw |
|---|---|
| Junk | 45% |
| Normal | 30% |
| Rare | 17% |
| Epic | 7% |
| Legendary | 1% |
This table applies when no Mythic or guarantee replaces the normal draw. Crates use it for each card, except that the first card of each crate is at least Rare. The Rare-or-better draw keeps the relative weights of Rare, Epic and Legendary.
- Epic+ counter: after 9 eligible cards without an Epic or better, the next eligible card is at least Epic. An Epic, Legendary or Mythic resets the counter. It counts Zoo and Crate cards, including each of the three cards in a crate.
- Mythics: each eligible card gets a separate seasonal Mythic chance while any remain. A Mythic replaces its normal rarity. See Figurines for the seasonal rules.
- Pocket: no Mythic chance, welcome voucher or Epic+ counter. Opening Pocket cards does not advance that counter.
Opening ×3 or ×5 changes how many boxes you buy, not the ordinary odds for each card. The result is fixed when randomness arrives, so skipping the animation or revealing later does not improve it.
A delayed order: reveal, retry or refund
Open Your on-chain orders near the bottom of Boxes. Connect the wallet that placed the order. The panel reads the contract and shows which actions are available. If the order list is unavailable, use Look up an order from your receipt with its type and order number.
| Order status | What you can do |
|---|---|
| Waiting for randomness | Retry after 1 hour from the latest randomness request. This requests a new result and ignores the old request. |
| Still waiting after 24 hours | Cancel and refund after 24 hours from the original order. Retrying does not move this deadline. |
| Randomness ready | The result is fixed. Reveal from wallet if automatic reveal has not finished. Retry and refund are no longer available. |
| Cards revealed | Your cards have been minted. Wait for the collection to sync. |
A box refund returns the exact USDC or ZOO amount paid for that order. Network fees are not returned. Retry, refund and a manual reveal each need a wallet transaction and ETH for its network fee; they do not charge another box payment.

Payment is held until reveal or refund. Buybacks happen separately; buying a box does not itself buy and burn ZOO. Read Tokenomics for both payment types.
This guide describes the current code and its defaults. Some app previews also use defaults; deployed settings can differ. Review the network, amount and action before confirming.
